R3SOLUTE CONFLICT COMPETENCY WORKSHOP II

The second day of our Conflict Competency Workshop continued with the women from the SIN e.V. shelter learning mediation techniques and practicing peer mediation with each other.

The women explored the power of listening and empathy, and learnt how to positively reframe discussions and diffuse tensions. After practicing these different techniques, the women had the chance to do a peer mediation role play with each other and put these skills into effective action.

The peer mediation was followed by a M3AWARE session with discussions and exercises on mental health led by Dr. Felix. Klapprott. The participants shared their own understanding of mental health and how it can exacerbate conflict, and also discussed the ways to help others who might be struggling with mental health issues.

As always, everybody had insights to share from their own experiences and contributed to another great session!
